@@user-xg5gb9ll2m I can see that totally!
I don't think they a will ever do a 1/3 Bruce Lee statue ever again so that makes this special. I was fortunate enough to get someone this month to sell it to me for 900, which adjusted for inflation, it close to the retail cost. I'm looking forward to their new 50th anniversary GOD but it's unfortunate that it's still a 1/4. I'm glad you made this as most reviews on UA-cam are from 2012 when the camera quality wasn't as good as it is now. So your video really shows to the details in ways the old reviews couldn't
@@loughrey101 thanks! I remember when I bought this when it came out in 2013…. Wow 11 years flys so fast! The retail was $599 back then.
@@jkdart1980 the one interesting observation I noticed wasting your video about the 40th anniversary is that they seem to have used different colour nameplates for different regions. so I noticed that a lot of the videos uploaded by Americans or Canadians have a gold nameplate. But the one I have and a few others from Europe have the brown nameplate that you see in the prototype images on the product page of Blitzway. It’s kind of a small interesting detail, but I’m not sure what the reasoning behind that was. I would’ve assumed that the gold nameplate was for the special limited edition version that they had of the gold base that you got on the Bruce Lee website at the time, but the standard version like yours also came with the gold plate in some regions but then it came with the brown name plate in other regions. At the time this was being made I wasn’t even aware of it so I don’t know what the reasoning behind the variation was. But it’s an interesting detail nevertheless.
@@loughrey101 I take it you have the bronze colored nameplate. It might have been that Blitzway ran out of the Bronze color and maybe the supplier stopped carrying it for the first batch of the production. Maybe part of the way through production they decided since they don’t have bronze to just use the same gold they have from the limited gold base version…. Not sure
@@jkdart1980 that's a great point. That's likely what happened.
Where are the pictures taken by two camera by Coburn and Siliphant in India ?! Is There a French langage copy of this book ?
@@monkeykeyfu2868 sorry no French version. Only Spanish and English text
That is not Bruce lee
@frankserratore3486 the guy in the white pants with the black shirt kicking at the Karateka is definitely Bruce Lee in 1969.
You're saying that picture of Bruce with Tak Kubota was taken after the demo with Vic Moore? I can't believe that! I mean, honestly, do you think Bruce would've looked that happy & relaxed after Grandmaster Moore humiliated him publicly (I just wish someone would come forward with the complete footage of that demo!) then easily trashed him in a private sparring match?! No, this picture must've been taken before all that embarrassment took place ... just kidding, hearing anything about the Bruce & Vic demo always makes me smile at least a little :)
@@BRUCEJJ66 Yes and the funny thing is Bruce didn’t even break a sweat on Vic!
Well done again Josh. It's always nice to get that extra confirmation. Over the years Bruce must have taught 100s of people. Even if you turned up for a few classes, you were still a student.
@@jwfloating-world I’m just glad my research was dead on as I knew it was the place with all of the eliminations and confirmation I got from a resident Pearlie! And now the photo sealed the deal! Thanks mate
Correct. I’ve got a pic of the gymnasium and the windows (seen top right) are the same
Will thanks so much! Would you be able to send me an email photo of the gym? thanks so much! 🙏
This was horrid. Never understood why people liked this
At 2:50, who was the martial artist Bruce was demonstrating with? I've been curious about that ever since I saw the video footage of that demo years ago. Interesting how this guy didn't cooperate by standing still when Bruce did his speed demo on him, he reacted more naturally (& with quick reflexes) which made Bruce have to work harder to look impressive.
@@BRUCEJJ66 honestly the guy might have been either a short lived LA student or a college student from California State College who volunteered That day. I agree, I think it was a natural reaction of being scared to being hit by Bruce Lee.
BRUCE LEE...J.K.D..
Did they make a small version of that nunchaku for ryusei imai?
@@fearkratos444 lol I have no idea
Yeah they did when it showed photos of him having it in the little big shots TV show
Is it easy or hard to make that nunchaku homemade?
@@fearkratos444 hard
So what materials do you need to make it?
@@fearkratos444 I didn’t make these
Oh
Superb info as always 👌
@@stephenconn8661 thanks 🙏 Steve!
I don't understand English very well, sorry. Why was Bruce Lee there that day? Thank you so much.
@@Retro_Slinger Bruce Lee was in Dallas, Texas during the Marlowe Tour in October. The Neiman Marcus Department Store in downtown Fortworth Dallas invited Bruce Lee to appear at their annual Fortnight Fashion Show event on October 21, 1969 Tuesday at 3:00 pm to do a demonstration and sign autographs at the Mann’s Shop inside the building. In the morning Bruce Lee did a demons at One Main Place shopping center in downtown Dallas. He was invited by Allen Steen. Allen was a student of Jhoon Rhee and heard that Bruce Lee was coming to Neiman Marcus at 3:00pm so he invited Bruce to his karate demonstration earlier in the day at One Main Place.
@@jkdart1980 Ah ok, I understand that the photos are from the exhibition with Allen Steen. Are there no photos of the rest? Thank you very much for the information.
@@Retro_Slinger I’ve only seen about 4
Indeed Josh, I thought (like others) that the photo was taken in Chicago because the 3 fighters with Bruce were from that city. But, I contacted a karateka who personally knows Rico Paone (the mustachioed one) very well and he asked him the question of the origin of the photo. He confirmed to me on July 23, 2020 the same version as you. You know, I'm not better than anyone else, like you, I do research to know more and more about Bruce Lee. So sometimes I can be wrong, just like my friend Marcos who wrote in his first version of his book that the photo came from the Dominican Republic. Except that one day, I found on Ebay a karate tournament program organized by Jim Martin and this same Jim Martin was pictured in the program with Bruce and Linda in EXACTLY the same place. And we all know that Linda was not in the Dominican Republic. This is an example of how our investigations evolve over time. Thank you for sharing your photos and information with us. Kind regards.
@@thierrydrean3749 thanks for watching. This is not about who’s better Thierry… 1. It’s about solving the puzzle for Bruce Lee and his fans. 2. The reason I had to show you this information is because you message me asking information about certain events. 3. I also do these videos to document who discovered what information because there’s a lot of people in this Bruce Lee world who will claim to discover what you have researched. I hope this covers all bases and have a good day 🐉
It is a fantastic investigation that you have done, two of you have done a very good job, finding those rare photographs and information, congratulations for the work you have done

Do you have any photos from the Vancouver, Canada demo in 1962? I have the poster for it, but I don't have any photos.
No I don’t and I also have seen the flyer for it. Thanks 🐉🙏
They still do Gung Fu demonstrations at the Seafair parade. I saw some on the Sunday afternoon before the parade in the evening five years ago. 🙏🐉
Hi JW! Sorry, I didn’t see this comment until now. WOW that’s cool! It must have been awesome for Doug Palmer to have seen Bruce’s demonstration!
The Kung Fu Genius would love this.
He's probably seen it by now lol

Great job Josh! Thanks!
Thanks for watching Darin!
Really great photos! The poster's illustration looks like it was done by Bruce Lee. Is Amy Sambo doing well? I'm very curious.Thank you very much.
Great work! I'm very interested in his demonstrations, shame there isn't more footage.

Do you know if this book is available in the UK and do you have a link to purchase it? Many thanks. 👍👍

Great piece of detective work there Josh. Just imagine what it was like to see a young Bruce doing a demonstration.🙏🐉

Awesome! Keep the videos coming! I find the "Noted Agilist" part of the flyer interesting.
Thanks! I just uploaded one now!
Great videos my friend, A few questions for you. Do you have a link to purchase this book from the UK and is it available on Amazon Kindle? Regarding Charlie Woo. I believe he died from head injuries sustained from a kick to the head from a horse, before Bruce died. Is this true and that he's in Lake View Cemetery? Many thanks my friend. Best wishes! Tony 👍 🙏🇬🇧
I heard about the same incident when the horse kicked Charlie in the head. He’s buried at Lakeview Cemetery with Bruce and Brandon
Nice New info on Bruce
Thanks 🙏
Another fantastic piece of research, Josh! Keep up the great work man, fascinating stuff 👏 👍
Thanks Stephen!!
Interesting info, cool to get specifics (dates, places) about some of Bruce's demos. Regarding Sue Ann Kay, have there ever been any published interviews with her? I've never seen one but I'd definitely like to.
I have never seen an interview with her or read about one. I have talked to her younger brother Roger Kay and he says he doesn’t have any contact with his sister as he lives in Hawaii now.
Hi there, I did Google about Bruce's Seattle days and I came across an interview of Sue Ann Kaye and some of her friends from the Seattle period talking about Bruce. Sorry I can't recall it, but I'll try and find it and get back to you. 🙏🙏🇬🇧
@@antonysmith6457 sounds good!
Regarding the Bruce's Seattle days. Google the following: Young Bruce Lee, Part 11, The Man Before The Legend. There's also a part 1 🙏🙏👍🇬🇧
@antonysmith6457 ok will do!
Thank you for uploading these wonderful and very valuable photos. Did they also demonstrate judo along with kung fu at this time?
Thanks for watching and your kind words! At this demonstration it was only Jun Fan Gung Fu. Bruce did some earlier Judo and Gung Fu demos pre-Jun Fan Gung Fu era.
@@jkdart1980 Thank you for your quick reply. It is very interesting that techniques from Japanese judo and aikido were later incorporated into Jeet Kune Do.
@@LoovesJf. during the early development of JKD in Oakland there’s was only boxing and wing chin involved. It wasn’t till later in Los Angeles that he added other techniques from various martial arts to Jeet Kune Do
@@jkdart1980 I see, I understand very well. thank you.
You're doing an awesome job with your research and videos! It's interesting to hear that Bruce had young students. I had heard before that Bruce did not teach children. Thanks!
He really didn’t. Roger Kay was one of the only or few. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for the detailed context of that photo. Really appreciate it. Another interesting fact about this time period, is that it's right around the time Ruby Chow kicked Bruce out of his boarding room. He then crashed with Doug Palmer for about a month or so. Bruce and Doug double dated with Linda and her friend (can't remember her name). I think Bruce ended up using his Jun Fan Institute as a living space.
Thanks and yes he stayed at Doug Palmer’s house for a month. Bruce did double date and would swap dates with Doug’s girlfriend and Linda would go with Doug so Linda’s mom wouldn’t get upset that she was dating an Asian male. Doug talks about this in his book. The Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute opened in October and Bruce stayed in the back of the studio as the room was finally ready inside.
@@jkdart1980 Thanks. Yeah, what I'm not sure about is whether Bruce stayed in the back of the Institute until June 1964 (when he left for California), or if he managed to get another apartment in Seattle somewhere in the meantime.
@@squatch545 I want to say he did. I don’t think he’d want to pay rent for a studio with a room and rent another room outside the studio. Makes no sense. Bruce didn’t have much money at this point in his life.
Nice rare items of Bruce Lee .what you think his cause of death was?
Really hard to say for certain because of his drug use…. But for me it really seems like he was poisoned
@@jkdart1980 yeah
